Introduction

Open Data Dictionary is the Oxford English Dictionary for Data — standardizing column names so Humans and AI can speak the same language.

I've built Open Data Dictionary after noticing that developers will now start embracing an AI-first development. The Data Community also agrees that we should invest in Semantic Layers and Data Catalogs but these are done after the fact that the column names are already generated. I believe that is too late. If we want AI to accelerate productivity, we need to ensure our systems already have pre-defined standards from the get-go.

With Open Data Dictionary, you connect your AI assistant to query standardized column names and definitions. It works with Claude Desktop, Cursor, and any MCP-compatible client.
